I would like to tell you a little bit about our life and basketball.
Latvian Basketball Seniors Club was founded at 1993, at the same time we started to participate at the World Maxibasketball Championship in Las Vegas, quite succesfully.
From this period we are participating in World championships all over the world, trying also to give
some imput in Maxi Basketball events. Getting support from FIMBA, we organized and provided the First European Maksibasketball Championship in Riga, in 2000.
We are doing a big job also in Latvia- organizing official championships. Nearly 500 people are taking part in these games (last season-55 teams) and we hold many championships in our capital city –Riga .

Our competition season starts in October and ends in April.
We really can tell you, that basketball is our life –we are together training twice a week, playing games and competitions every weekend, celebrating together our birthdays and
watching official games with the best Latvian, Lithuanian and Estonian teams.
We are a family.
We also are thinking how we can help each other in social fields, improving the work
of the senior comission under the Latvian Basketball Union. We are becoming older and
often, we need medical care. Sometimes we can give some financial support to our members. Yes, we are becoming older-but, at the same time, our hearts and spirit
are younger . The rest of the people should know the youth and the fun we get from this
wonderful game.
