The last survey made in Prague during the 10th World Maxibasketball Championship, shows that the most important issues of the tournaments are the social events. It was surprising because we always thought that the most important part of a championship was the sport issue.
During the coaching in Eugene we were telling each other the feeling we watched in Prague during the Opening Ceremony, when people was seeing again other team’s friends, from very far parts of the world and how players during the parade enjoyed the music and dance through the marches flying their flags.
With different points of view we were discussing this point when suddenly appears the world “celebration” to name the opening ceremony. We discussed the difference between Ceremony and Celebration and we finally decided that the word Celebration is what really players shows and what it really is.
We went on touching each point of the organization during the coaching and when we stopped in the Social Party, again the survey was really surprising. The participants want a “Party”. With everybody involved. With more interaction. We thought that exactly that is what is going to be in the future. A real party. We will give the Eduardo Awards at the beginning; the food will be served until the last minute of the party, music, shows and surprises after. Just a little cut in the middle to announce the next Host City. But just that. In the Pan-American, the European, the African and the future Pan-Pacific championship, will be exactly the same. A little cut to announce the next host city and let’s go on party.
Thanks to the survey, thanks to those who really knows that this is the tool to recognize what people want, (Franco), thanks to those who make possible the survey and to those who during a brain storming come with this special and great word like “celebration” (Joyce), we can ruled and included in the big Manual Book of our organizations.
Let´s celebrate sport in each of our tournament. Enjoy your stay, your games and your feelings during any FIMBA events. We will “Celebrate” each part and all time of a championship, and we will be asking you again and again to realize what you enjoy and what you really will.
